It was a special order HI-PO 289, factory 271 HP v4 solid lifter, also with optional BIGGER over the counter cam and alum intake and bigger 4v carb, factory optioned (stripy, i.e. does this sound legit to anyone? thanks to back it up. says it has a 289 special(never heard of that but not familar with 289's)radio delete plate, bench seat, 4spd, gold trim on the motor(valve covers etc)didnt have any other info on the car. My brother has a guy that was telling him about a 65, he thinks, falcon that is suppose to be an ultra rare drag car. Two days after he sold the car it was T-boned in an intersection and completely written off and crushed. My buddy had one complete with the teardrop hood and all the whistles, he broke the transmission a couple of times, then sold it to a local kid.
Many of them were drag raced but I don't think any would be considered "Factory Drag Cars". I doubt very much if it sold for that price. There are still a few around this area, the "Teachers Pet" car was for sale locally last year for $250,000.00. does this sound legit to anyone? thanks equipped with the 289/271HP engine, they came with 4 speed toploaders, bench seats and under-rider traction bars.
